1940’s skin care tips and traditions?
Posted under skin care tipsHow in the world did women back in the day keep their skin so soft and beautiful? What traditional remedies did they use, or products did they use?? Every classical movie I watch, it seems like no one back then had blemishes, or uneven skin tones. I know that is not the case of course, but it seems like all those women were flawless, of course now a days with movie stars it seems that way also, but something about classical stars is just flawless. Anyone know the old traditions of facial skin care??? I got the make up down lol but would love to learn more.
the most common cosmetic use was cold cream, it was used to remove make-up as well as a moisturizer. Red lip color, a rosy blush, light application of dark brown eyeliner and mascara were all most women wore on a daily basis, most film stars have considerably more make-up on more like stage make-up than modern make-up, again always removed with cold cream. Personally I use only cold cream and it seems to be working much better for my skin than any of the modern products I used before. The diet in those eras was much more healthy than the modern diet as well, having much more fruits and vegetables and less fats and meat.

i had to do a report in school on audrey hepburn, so i know much about this topic…
to get smooth skin, rub an ice cube around your eyes at night and in the morning.
red lipstick and blush is the only makeup you need to look flawless.
red lipstick WITHOUT lip liner.
wear ruffles !
DO NOT TAN. none of them tanned back often because fair skin was in style. tanning gives you wrinkles and freckles and spots, so dont do it.
wear your hair short and wavy, no bangs.
hope i helped. =]
