skin nutrition My skin is already free of blemishes but I’d like to have that naturally "glowing" look without having to put anything on my skin. I know that nutrition plays a huge part in how healthy you appear so I would like to know what foods I should add to my diet.
drink a lot of water

skin care tips I am obsessed with my skin, I hae good products and stuff, but want to know some promising products, tips, facials, etc…I will try almost anything as long as it works and is a good price!
Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:
* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?
* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.
* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.
* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.
* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.
* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived
* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.
* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin.
Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.
Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.
IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or a natural coconut oil to moisturize in the meantime until you find a better alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!

body skin care Hi everyone! I am currently trying to get a good skin care regime going, I want to put in the effort and get healthy and beautiful skin and basically just look after myself a bit more. I have my face pretty much sorted, I went for a skin consultation and the beauty woman picked out the appropriate cleanser, toner and moisturizer and it is working well. I think I might need to go back though as I have a lot of blackheads on my nose that are just not clearing (not even those nose strips work for me) so I thought maybe a facial exfoliate would help? Is there any home remedies to blackheads or would a facial exfoliater for my skin type be a good idea?
Ok so that was the first question now onto the other. I have my facial system pretty much covered but now I have to get the body skin care sorted. When it comes to my body I don’t know when/if/where I should exfoliate, if I do should I use a scrub or those little mittens. I don’t know when I should moisturize/how/where I should moisturize, should I use a cream or baby oil? Should I exfoliate every time I have a bath and moisturize every crack and crevice afterwords or once a week or 3 times a week?! Basically could you tell me a good system to look after my body’s skin (i.e what should I be doing and how many times a week I should be doing it). As you can tell I am a skincare novice lol so go easy on me! There are a lot of questions I know so thank you for bearing with me and thank you in advance for any answers! Xx
Thank you Ms
The Body Shop is actually where I got my facial products from and you are right they do sell really good skin care products!

anti aging treatment I am curious and would like to get fellow opinions. I am gonna be 30 and no real lines yet but I am curious what the best alpha hydroxy or any treatment that can be bought at stores like Target etc that seems to help fine lines. I am not looking for something to fill or temporarily tighten just something that works more over a period of time. Not looking for miracle just a little face maintenance.
Thankyou in advance.
Oil of Olay. I am 50 years old and people think I still look like I’m in my 30s. And you only need to use a drop the size of a pea. I started using it while I was in my mid-20s.

facial skin care my skin feels ok just alot of these red blotches on my face that i cant seem to get rid of
this is my usual skin care routine:
1. wet face and cleanse with dove deep moisturizing cleanser
2. rinse thoroughly then apply dove toner
3. use olay sensitive skin moisturizer
and 2 times a week i exfoliate before i cleanse
am i doing anythin wrong?
any suggestions for simple skin care routine plz
Here are some tips for beautiful skin :
* Don’t go to bed with makeup on. Makeup left on overnight seeps into your pores, clogs them, and congests your skin. Make sure that you wash your face twice at the end of the day. Once to get the makeup off. A second time to wash the skin itself.
* Exfoliate daily. After washing your face at night, be sure to exfoliate. Use a delicate scrub. If you don’t have one on hand, a tablespoon of sugar or oatmeal will work just fine.
* Use facial masks regularly. If possible, everyday is ideal. Again, if you don’t have one on hand, make your own. Mashed banana or avocado is good. Plain yogurt also works well.
* Keep a treatment and moisturizer on your face, day or night. Put your skin first. After you wash it at night, put on some kind of skin treatment, whether it’s alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin A or C, or any kind of special cocktail treatment. Let that sink in, then put a moisturizer over that. In the morning, do the same.
* Don’t use the cheapest or most expensive cosmetics. Mom tells me that moderately priced cosmetics are the best. They get the job done, and the ingredients are usually pretty good. You have to keep trying various brands until you find something that works well for you.
* Hydrate your face throughout the day. Whether it’s a commercial product, or one you make yourself (fill a spray bottle with distilled water, add a few drops of chamomile or rose essential oil, shake it gently before each use, and spray it on) hydrate your face, even over makeup, frequently throughout the day.
* Treat your face gently. Never pull, tug, or scrub your facial skin. Be very gentle when you clean it, moisturize it or makeup on it. This will lessen the chance that you’ll damage your skin and get wrinkles.
* Keep your face covered when you’re in the sun. As beautiful as she is, my mom never lets anyone see her face when she’s in the sun. She’ll slather on a high factor sunscreen, put on sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat.
* Eat fresh foods and drink lots of water. My mom tells me to stay away from "dead food" food that’s basically not fresh. She always eat lots of veggies, fruits, nuts, and drinks tons of water.
* Let go of stress. Stress can show up on your face, no matter how well you take care of your skin. Do something your enjoy everyday, whether it’s watching TV or going shopping. Your face reflects what’s going on inside of your mind.
Hope i could help ?

facial wrinkles I’m not interested in surgery or injections.
Facials!!
I used to get them regularly & the facial is fantastic! It’s relaxing, a facialist massages your face and puts lovely stuff on your skin.
It cost me about a hundred dollars but I was in upstate New York getting this wonderful treatment. Where you live the price might be different.

anti aging treatment The latest anti aging advice points to the sun as one of the main culprits of prematurely aged skin. This is because any sun exposure breaks down the collagen in the skin and eventually prevents it from regenerating. Because your skin is made up of eighty percent collagen, as you age, you will notice more wrinkles and lines than is normal if you spend too much time out in the sun.
Latest advice recommends that you apply a wrinkle cream with SPF 15 in the morning before you go out, and then a nightly rejuvenating cream when you go to bed. This way, you can prevent harmful sun damage during the day and then hydrate your skin at night. This skin regimen will not only prevent wrinkles, but repair them. As well, the latest anti aging advice still recommends that you eat plenty of raw fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water.
Avoid fatty foods. A diet high in saturated fats also contributes to premature aging. So, if you love fast food, you have probably experienced some prematurely aging skin around the face and neck area. Cutting back on saturated fats will not only make you feel better, it will also help your skin tone and lessen future lines and wrinkles. Along with a good wrinkle cream, you will see more results faster if you stop eating junk food like pizza and potato chips.
Cut down on smoking. Smoking is linked as a direct cause of dry facial skin. This is because smoking depletes your body of vitamins that help your body naturally produce the collagen that makes your skin look younger. As well, when you pucker your lips every time you inhale, you are making repetitive facial motions that will make permanent lines around your mouth, because your collagen will be depleted. Modern wrinkle creams can significantly reduce this damage, but the latest anti aging advice recommends cutting back on smoking so that the creams will work faster.
Alcohol in moderation. Alcohol is another substance that depletes the body of the nutrients necessary to produce collagen. For good skin care, it is best to limit the consumption of alcohol in order to see the dramatic effects of the best anti wrinkle creams. This is because any anti wrinkle cream works better if you follow a healthy diet.
